I Don't Know Studios
Privacy Policy & Notice at Collection
Effective October 22, 2026
I Don't Know Studios, a video production studio in San Diego, California, explains here how information is handled through this website and inquiries about our services. This policy covers the website, not independent practices of linked services or a separate client production agreement.
Information we collect and why
When you send an inquiry, we collect your name, email address, message and any phone number, company, service interest or budget you choose to provide. We also record your policy acknowledgement, terms acceptance, optional email preference, policy version and submission time. We use this information to respond, prepare estimates, discuss projects, keep business records, prevent misuse and administer your choices. Do not submit payment card details, government identifiers, health information or other sensitive information through the inquiry form.
Website and device information
Hosting, security and embedded-media providers receive technical information needed to deliver the site, such as IP address, browser/device information, request time, requested pages and referring information. Privacy preferences are stored in your browser. If optional analytics or advertising tools are enabled with your choice, they may collect device or cookie identifiers, page views, approximate location derived from IP address, interactions, referral sources and campaign/conversion information. Sources include you, your browser, service providers and, when enabled, advertising platforms.
Notice at collection: disclosure and retention
Contact identifiers and project details are used for inquiries and business administration, not uploaded by this inquiry form to advertising platforms. Technical identifiers and online activity may be shared for advertising measurement or cross-context behavioral advertising if advertising integrations are later enabled and you allow them. These disclosures may be considered a sale or sharing under applicable privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. Google Analytics is installed but loads only after you allow optional analytics. Google advertising features are disabled, and no advertising pixels are currently installed. We retain inquiry and project records for as long as reasonably needed for communications, a client relationship, contractual, accounting or legal requirements and resolving disputes. Retention depends on the record and purpose rather than a single period. Browser privacy choices expire after 180 days or when you clear browser storage.
Service providers and other disclosures
Information may be handled by providers of hosting, storage, website administration, email delivery, security, embedded video and, if enabled, analytics and advertising. We may disclose information as necessary to comply with law, protect rights and security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to applicable safeguards. We do not offer contact-form submissions for sale to data brokers. External links take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Analytics, advertising and similar technologies
We use Google Analytics, with your analytics consent, to measure visits, traffic sources and interactions. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Google processes measurement data under its own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We may later use advertising services such as Google Ads, Meta platforms including Facebook and Instagram, TikTok, and other comparable providers. Purposes may include measuring site use and campaign results, attributing inquiries, building permitted audiences and presenting relevant advertising. Naming a provider here does not mean its tools are currently active. Optional integrations must respect the preferences offered on this site; materially different practices will be described before they begin. Email marketing permission is separate from cookie and advertising choices.
Contact-form spam protection
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the inquiry form against automated abuse. When the form loads, Google receives technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, and interactions used for security verification. reCAPTCHA may use cookies for risk analysis. This security service is separate from optional analytics and advertising preferences. Google processes information under https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/terms. If you prefer not to use reCAPTCHA, contact us directly by email.
Embedded video
The site includes Vimeo players that connect to Vimeo when loaded, including autoplay backgrounds. Vimeo receives connection and playback information and may use technology needed for delivery, security and its own service. We request Vimeo privacy mode in our players; this does not make playback anonymous or eliminate all third-party requests. Vimeo’s own policy governs its independent processing. You can restrict third-party content in your browser, which may prevent videos from playing.
California and other privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether the applicable law covers our business, you may have rights to know/access personal information, obtain a portable copy, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, opt out of sale or sharing and targeted advertising, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We do not request sensitive personal information for the inquiry process or use it to infer personal characteristics. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights. Exceptions may apply, including information needed to complete services or meet legal obligations.
How to make a request
Email johndoe@idontknow.tv or call (619) 713-9620 with your request. You may ask about, correct or request deletion of inquiry information, or withdraw email marketing permission. For access, correction or deletion we may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity; please do not send sensitive identity documents unless specifically needed through an agreed secure method. An authorized agent may submit a request with proof of authorization and any verification required by law. We respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any permitted refusal or extension. You may contact us again to ask for review of a decision.
Opt-out preferences and browser signals
Use Your Privacy Choices to turn off advertising without creating an account. This site recognizes Global Privacy Control (GPC) as an advertising/sale-or-sharing opt-out for the browser sending it; GPC overrides an advertising opt-in. Settings apply to this browser, not automatically to other devices or third-party accounts. Traditional Do Not Track signals do not currently change site behavior; use GPC or the privacy controls instead. Clearing storage may reset choices. Requests concerning records held by the studio can also be submitted by email or phone.
Children, security and international visitors
This site is intended for people seeking professional production services, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or knowingly sell or share information of children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where providers operate, whose privacy protections may differ from those where you live.
Policy updates and contact
We will post changes here with an updated effective date and provide additional notice or obtain permission when required. Review this page periodically. For privacy questions contact I Don’t Know Studios, San Diego, California, at johndoe@idontknow.tv or (619) 713-9620.
